本集是貝多芬芭蕾舞劇《普羅米修斯的創造物》（作品 43）的簡化版，並特別加入適合兒童聆聽的故事旁白，重新講述這個精采的希臘神話故事。貝多芬的音樂和普羅米修斯的神話是否適合小朋友聆聽？弗萊堡巴洛克管弦樂團的新錄音解答了這項疑慮。他們的新版本，便特別考慮兒童的接受度，還邀請教育專家撰寫故事旁白。

《普羅米修斯的創造物》描寫冒死盜取天火送給人間的神話人物普羅米修斯，結果被天神宙斯發現後，便以巨鷹日復一日啄食他的肝臟做為懲罰。然而，此曲與貝多芬後來《英雄》交響曲都不是對英雄的歌頌，而在於展現對人類幸福和平之理想與意念的想望。

專輯演出者弗萊堡巴洛克管弦樂團（Freiburger Baroque Orchestra）是最好的巴洛克合奏團之一。成立於一九八七年，他們的音色特殊，廣受好評。演奏曲目極廣，自巴洛克時期，以至當代作品，均胸有成竹。曾獲得眾多國內和國際的獎項，包括格萊美獎、回聲古典獎（Echo Klassik） 和德國唱片大獎（ Deutscher Schallplattenpreis），在在證明他們獨特的創意與成果。

這張兒童版的《普羅米修斯的創造物》由克里斯托夫．泰希納（Christoph Teichner）濃縮並改編為小型巴洛克樂團合奏，重點關注於普羅米修斯的內在的動盪。 樂團音樂教育家卡洛琳娜．尼斯（Carolina Nees）撰寫的口語文本與音樂相得益彰，讓小朋友能完全沉浸在故事中。透過貝多芬音樂的各個片段，普羅米修斯的神話再次重現。特別之處：該專輯既包含卡洛琳娜．尼斯講述的完整德文版本旁白，同時也邀請英國詩人、新聞記者、劇作家和播音員伊恩．麥克米蘭（Ian McMillan）講述完整的英文旁白。
