Folding Story is the 5th full-length album by FAZI, which incorporates psychedelic elements into the band previous post-punk style, creating strong imagery. This album has a complete concept, where the inspiration comes from the experiences of band members and friends. The 10 songs in this album depict the story of an ordinary person from being born, to growing up, running away, and finding their way in life.
FAZI collaborated with artist Jin Shien, using the 10 songs as a blueprint to create a 45-minute experimental music film, putting forward the brand-new concept of an “album film”. “Album” differentiates from single-song music videos in that it incorporated the entire album into a full-length shoot. “Film” means that the 10 songs construct a complete picture. This is an extremely experimental video production, and we hope to create the possibility for everyone to listen to the album on a visual level.
All stories have beautiful beginnings, I started my adventures from my mother womb, curious about the world. Feelings of inferiority as a child made me ashamed to express myself, I became sharp-edged and lonely. Growing up I chased after desire and tried to figure out love; I often felt confused. I felt like a foreign matter in my own throat, one that I could not cough out or swallow. Ive had many dreams, although I dont believe that they can all come true, I will still make wishes.
Slowly Ive come to realize that Im trying to find the way to myself. No one can point me in a direction, no one knows how or where; not even my mother, father, lovers, friends, or wise men.
Heel after toe, I continue to go forward, eyes like blazing torches. The landscape is retreating, there is anger, pain, sadness, and conceit, I let go of that part of myself, but I wont forget.
